Overview

The Trans-Provence runs from North-West to South-East, from Durance Valley to Alp to Beach. Each day begins with a significant vehicle uplift to give us a headstart on the way to our large daily dose of singletrack descending.

Starting at Rochebrune 15 km south-east of Gap, we spend the best part of the first two days crossing the serenely beautiful Monges massif before turning eastwards and heading for Digne-les-Bains, capital of the Haute-Provence.

Day 3 is a transitional day involving -as an exception- more ascending than descending, as we climb into the Haut-Verdon to prepare our assault on the Maritime Alps.

Hereafter we cross the watershed between the Rhône and Var basins, traversing the southern foot of the rugged Mercantour National park until we eventually reach the Tinée valley at St.Sauveur.

Finally it's two days through Monte-Carlo Rallye country, passing by Nicolas Vouilloz's home village and local trails before the final descent into Monaco.

In a nutshell: 7 days, 26 timed stages, 320 km, 9500 metres vertical ascent, 15200 metres vertical descent... and most importantly: more sweet singletrack than you can shake a stick at!
